- Union Cabinet approves Rs 5,718 crore World Bank's Project STARS
Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the project STARS aided by the World bank. The cabinet has approved Rs 5,718 crores of aid from World Bank to implement project STARS. STARS is Strengthening Teaching Learning and Resources for States.
- India to host Seventh Justice Ministers Meet of SCO
The Union Minister of law and Justice Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad is to host the seventh meeting of ministers of justice of Shanghai cooperation organisation.
- Sixth Session of India-Norway Joint commission held
The Sixth Session of India-Norway Joint Commission was held. India was represented by the External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. The ministers welcomed the establishment of COVAX during the meet. Both the countries agreed to engage in regular consultations on the issues of United Nations Security Council.
- Gujarat Disturbed Area Act (Amendment) bill, 2020
The president Ramnath kovind assented the Gujarat Distributed Area act (Amendment) Bill 2019. The amendment will prohibit transfer of assets that is the immovable property in disturbed areas. Also, it will protect the tenants from vacating the property.
- Olympic 400 hurdles champion, Charlie Moore passes away
The 400-meter hurdles champion at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, Charlie Moore passed away. He won the 400 hurdles in the rain in 1952 in 50.8 seconds to tie the Olympic record he set in the quarterfinals. He also earned a silver medal in Helsinki on the United States' 1,600-meter relay team. After the Olympics, he set a world record of 51.6 in the 440 hurdles at the British Empire Games in London.
- PM Modi releases autobiography of Balasaheb Vikhe Pat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released the autobiography of former Union Minister Dr Balasaheb Vikhe Patil through video conferencing. The autobiography of Dr Patil has been titled 'Deh Vechwa Karani,' means 'dedicating one's life for a noble cause.' Dr Patil served as Member of Lok Sabha for multiple terms. He died in 2016 at the age of 84.

World Standards Day or International Standards Day is observed globally on 14 October every year. The day aims to raise awareness about the importance of standardisation to the global economy among the consumers, regulators and industry.
- Axis Bank launches ACE Credit Card in partnership with Google Pay
Axis Bank has launched a new entry-level credit card named Axis ACE Credit Card, with a focus on increasing participation of users in the digital economy. It also aims to bring a seamless, digital experience to users from application to issuance. The card has been launched in collaboration with Google Pay and will run on Visa (Signature) platform.
- Goa Govt ties up with India Post to get farmers enrolled in PM-KISAN scheme
The Goa Government has tied up with India Post to get 11,000 farmers enrolled in the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sanman Nidhi scheme. This is the first such exercise in India to enrol farmers in the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, whereby the postman will be utilised to benefit farmers.
